The Cherry Adult ADHD-Autism Diagnostic Interview (Cherry AADI) is a comprehensive clinical assessment designed specifically for adults seeking answers about ADHD, autism, or AuDHD.
Developed by Lindley Cherry, LCMHC, QS, NCC, the Cherry AADI was created to address gaps in traditional assessment approaches and better reflect the complex, diverse ways ADHD and autism can present in adults.
Traditional assessments don’t always capture the lived experience of neurodivergent adults—particularly those who have spent years masking, compensating, or adapting to expectations that weren’t designed with them in mind.
The Cherry AADI takes a different approach.
By combining a structured clinical interview with established psychometric measures, the Cherry AADI provides a consistent diagnostic framework while allowing space for individualized clinical conversation and deeper exploration. It considers developmental history, current functioning, masking, adaptive strategies, cultural context, and differential diagnoses.
Because assessment should be more than a checklist.
The Cherry AADI was created to support thorough, culturally responsive, neurodivergent-affirming evaluation and meaningful outcomes—including greater self-understanding, appropriate treatment planning, and documentation to support accommodations when clinically indicated.
Comprehensive. Individualized. Adult-focused.
